The ulterior motive? How cool to keep saying Kav and Kev are my dining companions.
In fact I feel a bit left out of the moniker, until I ponder that the obvious derivation of my name to join their club would be to shorten "Dianne" to "Div", which is not quite so cool.
I arrange to meet the two Ks at Manchester's Hard Rock Café - seeing as their new project is new musical The Extra Factor, which takes a comedic look at the music industry.
Both Kav and Kev will play talent show pop hopefuls in the show - and will sing each night for audience votes to decide the "winner" of the fictional TV show played out on stage.
And of course both Kav and Kev have a pedigree for such musical things.
Moston-raised Kav, recording as Kavana, scored a string of Top 40 hits in the mid-90s, including his cover of I Can Make You Feel Good. And more recently he was back in the public eye when he made it through to the final of the ITV search for new West End stars, Grease Is The Word.
Meanwhile, Kevin, who will always be known and loved by millions as Corrie's Curly Watts, gained his own Top 40 hit in 2000 with Bulldog Nation, and in recent years has carved a successful career in musical theatre - most recently playing the lead role of Caractacus Potts in the international touring production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Rock 'n' roll style
Me and Kevin have a merry old catch-up while we wait for Kav - who in true rock 'n' roll style is late.
He tells me how he would never rule out a return to Corrie - and that despite leaving the show five years ago now, wherever he goes across the globe people still recognise him as loveable Curly. Quite by coincidence, and rather proving the point, our lovely young waitress then comes bounding over to say to Kev: "I just wanted to say I don't think Corrie's been the same without you."
By the time Kav arrives, me and Kevin have already decided not only what we'll have for our main courses (Kev a New York strip steak, and me a lovely salmon steak both with scrummy mashed potato) - but what our particularly sinful choclatey desserts will be too.
But Kav at least has a pretty good excuse for his delay. "I was out with David Gest last night," he explains as he sits down for lunch.
Kav has been mates with David since he was a judge on Grease Is The Word. And now that David is a regular visitor to Manchester, it leads to the inevitable nights out on the town together.
Both Kev and Kav seem to be really looking forward to the new musical - the latest project from Manchester writer Dave Simpson who also wrote the hit shows Girls Night Out and The Naked Truth - and will start rehearsals next week.
But Kev is already enjoying winding up Kav - who will make his theatrical debut in this show. Kav anxiously asks Kevin if it's usual to get nerves before going on stage. He replies: "Anyone who says they don't get nerves is either not very good or lying." Before joking to Kav: "Don't worry, we'll just put you at the back if you get really nervous."
