WATCH out bar staff - the world's first robotic barman is heading to Manchester this week to show off his pint-pulling skills.

Known as Mr Asahi, the life-sized robot can serve ice-cold beer as draught pints and half-pints and take the caps off bottles too.

I'm told he can even reply politely to questions and always stays calm under pressure.

And while the average person has to wait almost 15 minutes to be served at a bar, Mr Asahi consistently gets your order in under two minutes.

A spokesman says: "Not only is he quicker than a human, he's also an employer's dream with no need for a loo break!"

Blimey! See him for yourself at Selfridges in Exchange Square on Thursday and Friday, and Selfridges Trafford Centre on Saturday and Sunday.
