Summer In The Park is the brainchild of the Manchester Food And Drink Festival folk. It's partly a taster for the acclaimed main event in October but also a celebration of summer in the city. Two whole days of solid music and eating. And we promise you, it will rock!
CityLife are media partners for the weekend's fun, which will take place from July 12-13 in Platt Fields Park, Fallowfield.
Expect two jam-packed days filled with the best chefs, food, drink and music the region has to offer. And loads for ther kids to do, making it the perfect family day out.
MFDF organiser Phil Jones says: "We are trying to bring together everyone's three favourite things in life, in what we think is the best city in the world.
"The idea is to bring a cost-effective, unique and exciting family day out to the people of Manchester this summer.
"It will be one that doesn't exclude anyone - from serious foodies and real beer fans to music lovers and kids.
"We also want to shout about the excellence in Manchester of the local restaurants, chefs and producers, and do this in a very mancunian way by involving live music."
Headlining the music side will be serveral top-notch Manc music legends (the line-up will be announced next month), while up to 30 of Greater Manchester's best restaurants will host their own kitchen staitons serving sample portions.
The global line-up includes restaurants such as Shimla Pinks and EastzEast (Indian), Chaophraya (Thai), Tampopo, Ning, Wagamamma and MosoMoso ( all pan-Asian), Chiquito (Mexican), Carluccio's and Croma (Italian), Evuna (Spanish), Chez gerard (French) Michael Caines Abode (Modern British), Gourment Burger Kitchen, Livebait and Grill On The Alley.

Learn In The Park: Cookery Theatre
This will host Question And Answer sessions, celebrity book signings and demonstrations from top chefs including two Michelin-starred Michael Caines, The Lowry Hotel's Eyck Zimmer, Marmalade's John Quilter and legendary Robert Owen-Brown. The perfect place to pick up culinary tips.
Drink In The Park: Real Ale and Wine Village
Former bar of the year Odd will bering its quirky Northen Quarter style to the festival. Hourly free world wine tastings will be hosted by experts, while a Greater Manchester Ale Bar will feature most of the region's beers. The region has the highest concentration of micro-breweries in the UK - including stars susch as Marble, Phoenix, Leyden, Millstone, Owl, Hydes and Bank Top - and this is a rare chance to sample them under one (canvas) roof.
Produce In The Park: Producers' Market
This will feature a comprehensive range of some of the north west finest foodstuffs - and give you a chance to meet the producers themselves, including Savin Hill Farm, Dowsons Ice Cream, Gift Of Oil, Chat Moss Herbs and many more.
Music In The Park: Live music
The main stage will feature some of Manchester's finest emerging talents. Mr Scruff will play a two-hour DJ set. Live acts to be named next month.
Tea In The Park: Tea and coffee area
The Northern Quarter's fashionable CUP Café, with Mr Scruff's Make Us A Brew tea range headline here. Expect coffees, teas, juices, smoothies, cakes and biscuits (makeusabrew.com).
Feast In The Park: Supper time
The festival will run late into the evening, closing with a traditional banquet, featuring a locally sourced ox-roast, masterminded by Robert Owen-Brown, and seasonal vegetables.
Play In The Park
There is a dedicated play area to encourage kids to take an interest in what they eat. It will be run in association with child-focused restaurants and partners, including Mex esaterie Chiquitos (`with a Foodie Tour of the Aztecs!', Innocent Smoothies and Baby Loves Disco (for parents who want to club with their kids). Kids can create your own sushi and falafel in special workshops.
