Discover a taste of India down your local

A Tameside pub ticks all the right boxes for its punters – good beer and great curry all under one roof.
The landlord at The Peaks, Denis Morgan, has struck up a partnership with talented chef and restaurateur Chunu Miah to create an Indian Restaurant at the Gorsey Lane premises in Ashton.

They’ve successfully steered away from the traditional ‘pub grub’ in favour of a more upmarket approach to its food.
Denis said the move is part of a £100,000 revamp to the pub to create a more contemporary environment. The refurbishment is due to be finished by the summer.
The restaurant, which has been running for more than five weeks, is set to become a firm favourite with discerning diners.

“We’ve already had a positive response from the locals,” said Chunu, who used to run a popular Indian restaurant in the Lake District.
“Now regulars can enjoy an afternoon watching a sports game with a few pints followed by a curry in the evening – there’s really no need to go anywhere else.”

So, not only can you shoot some pool with your pals, take advantage of its separate function room to hold an intimate party or enjoy its weekly live entertainment at The Peaks – you can also order your favourite curry.
Chunu and his team of talented chefs are committed to serving a delicious array of fine Indian and English dishes.
As far as the menu goes, there is plenty to choose from.
Whether you go bananas over a biryani, a korma gets you drooling, or you like it hot with a vindaloo, The Peaks Indian Restaurant offers a wonderful choice of well presented and beautifully cooked food in a cosy pub environment with the bonus of having all your favourite beers on tap.
