Museums awarded extra cash

MUSEUMS in Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cumbria have been awarded extra cash by the Government.

Arts Minister Estelle Morris announced an award of '1.9 million to 15 museums and galleries in the North of England and the Midlands.

Among those to benefit are the National Museums Liverpool, which will receive '187,000, and Manchester City Galleries, which will receive '115,000.
