She is backing our campaign to celebrate unsung heroes across Greater Manchester.
The awards, run in association with Barclays, recognise people from all walks of life, from have-a-go heroes to caring neighbours, charity workers and inspiring business people.
Kym said: "Northern people are friendlier and have more time for everybody else."
She urged readers to nominate people who have made a difference to their lives.
