THE Manchester Evening News has launched the Chief Constable's Award for Community Focus.

The award, sponsored by the M.E.N, is designed to recognise the police officers, staff or multi agency teams which have gone the extra mile to make a difference to people's lives across Greater Manchester.

And between now and February 11 we want you the readers to help decide which of the six nominations should be awarded the top accolade.

What a really great idea this award is, I'm a little dissappointed that the award is not focussed on Community nominations as its is a community website for the community. I only see one nomination from the community, that one for PC Mark Clifton.

Vote for Chadders! PCSO Ian Chadwick!! What a guy, what's not said is that this singing policeman raises money for charity and has devoted his spare time to run kids football teams. All those who've spent many a happy Saturday morning at Ten Acres Lane - VOTE NOW!!

I have known ian for the last 6years or so and found him the most reliable Officer I have been involved with. I have seen many officers in the past but Ian as a PCSO has worked himself tireless to help everyone.
if he says he will do something he will do it, no empty promises, just action

I get totaly fed up with all the bad and unfounded press that surronds PCSOs. People that make this negative comments are totally unware of the work that these officers carry out. If it was not for officers like PCSO Chadwick, PCSO Cheetham,PC Boswell, PCSO Rothwell, and PCSO Bridgehouse, Newton Heath would be a worse affected area. I work alongside all the PCSOs at Newton Heath and think they do a fantastic job which most of the times is thankless work. I could not think of a more deserving person of this award. Chads your a star!!! A big thanks to the local Policing team in Newton Heath and all your hard work!!!

I get really frustrated when i hear people slated psco they in my opinion do what community policeman should do as it is all about the community. Psco Ian Chadwick is one in a million and a credit to the force there should be more like him around. His presence is highly honoured by the residents of newton heath both elderly and young he has gained alot of respect from them.24 hour bob is what they call him as he always seems to be in work. Good luck Chadderz you deserve it.

Chadders is a more than deserving winner of this award. This is a man who always has time for people. Goes the extra mile and has excelent Newton Heath community links (Not that all of Northwards think he has). Chadders is 1 of the most popular people in Newton Heath along side 24 hour Bob (Our Street Environment Manager).

Perhaps Ian Chadwick should move to Sale, who knows he could show the lazy sods there how to do their jobs
