involved like Oldham, Rochdale who have a problem with unemployment already. The charges will drive business away and companies looking to invest will go elsewhere. If a referendum took place I think most people will vote against charges and that is why we won't get one.

I have noticed that the City of Sheffield have introduced a policy of allowing motorcycles to use the buss lanes. A trial in Bristol showed a reduction in the monthly motorcycle accident rate from 0.35 to 0.26 with the percentage of serious accidents reducing from 33% to 20%. Motorcycles do not slow the progress of the busses and allowing them to use the bus lanes has made a significant contribution to motorcycle safety.
How much more considerable pain and suffering do rider motorcycle riders need to suffer before Manchester City Council adopt this policy.
