THE globe-straddling power of the internet has meant getting in touch with long lost friends or relatives is no longer the arduous ordeal it used to be.

I am trying to find anyone who knew Brian Edward May, son of Elizabeth May (known as Thelma or Betty) and her husband Albert Edward May, or knew his parents. Brian was born in April 1957 but died in 1998 aged just 41, his death was registered in Manchester. He was married to Angela McAllister they married I think in 1985 or 1986 just after his mother died. She died in April 1985 aged 63, I believe she was already a widow at that time. Brian had possibly two half sisters: Barbara nee Davies born 1941 and Pamela nee Davies born 1949. If anyone can help I would be very grateful, please email.

Just a few lines of thanks to the Manchester Evening News for the support it has given to Catherine Birchall. Catherine will be the first blind woman to travel around the world by motorbike.

Both her and Bernard wish to send their thanks to the M.E.N, BBC Radio Manchester and Buzz FM along with many others who have featured the story.

It is nice to know that people can thing of greater things than themselves at times.

i LIVE IN BEETHAM TOWER,its very poorley designed we have no storage space,the hot water has beeen off all week to be told that it was fixed got up this morning no hot water and we are told nothing can be done till monday so me and all the people living in the building have to lump it, i moved in in Febuary and this has happen before.
There is still building work going on the lifts are a disgrace,the carpark flood on a regular bases.iTS A DUMP

This is the reply I got from a relative living in Manchester, who responded to my ad. I want to thank you so much for helping me get in touch, I now have corresponded with a few lost cousins. Does anyone remember Keith Allen who used teach Piano in Moston close to St.Dunstans Church.I was one of his pupils in the 1940's. He was a very patient teacher and also a brilliant pianist. Would love to know if he is still around,.

I am urgently trying to contact "Dave Charnley" who served with HMS Arrow Flight during the Falklands campaign. Dave was an the Flight AEM(M)- all the flights are having a reunion on 22 Sept 07 and Dave is the only member of HMS Arrow Flight that we cannot trace. On Wednesday I was flying out of Manchester airport and was looking for Manchester City gift items but there was absolutely nothing to be found at all. But when it came to Manchester United there was lots! Your airport is bias and a disgrace. Come on get your act together.

At least two cars were broken into at Quay 5 in Salford on Saturday night - while parked in the "secure" car-park!

I'm used to seeing cars with smashed windows along the road, away from the watchful eye of the cameras but these two cars were inside the compound. There is a spiked fence all around the car-park and CCTV on all corners, yet some low-life scum still managed to get in and smash up some cars and steal their contents.

To anyone reading this who has just moved to this area from a safe, rural town like I have, welcome to Salford!

Does the BBC know what it's getting into by moving to this area?

I agree the internet is a great way to kkeep in touch with lost friends I have been trying to contact some of my old friends from marwood boys a football team a set of local boys that used to meet in mr mcnaughtons house just off st james rd if any of you read this please get in touch with me through the in touch section of the papert tommy walsh
