Education is a right for everyone

RE: – the article (February 6) regarding the new intake area for Woodheys Primary School.

I am joint chair of Woodheys Primary School Parents’ Association and have two children who attend. I am also an ex-pupil of Cherry Manor Primary School.

Having grown up on the Racecourse Estate I am disgusted by how people are being judged because of where they live.

As far as I am aware, the old Cherry Manor catchment area was not just for people from the Racecourse Estate, it also covered some of the surrounding roads.

As long as Woodheys has got room I can’t see what the problem is by extending the catchment area.

I don’t understand why this anonymous parent was "infuriated" by this decision.

If Woodheys is the closest school to these children, and this is where their parents wish them to attend, what, exactly, is the problem?

Every child has the right to a quality education, and all parents, no matter where they live, should have the right to choose which school they think is best for their child.
