Fallen trees are this morning blocking local roads after gales of up to 60mph.
Cheshire Police said the bad weather had taken 27 incidents relating to fallen trees, branches, power lines and debris in the road since 6am today.
In Prestbury a fallen treeĀ blocked a busy junction of Oak Road and Shaw Road. A farmer and tree surgeon were working on removing the tree.
Police confirmed that power lines fell at the roundabout in Chelford which links Chelford Road, Holmes Chapel Road, Peover Lane and Alderley Road. United Utilities have been called.
Motorists are being told to take extra care on their journeys and listen to local radio bulletins for updates on to road closures.
West or northwesterly gales are likely to continue through this morning.
Gusts of up to 90mph were recorded in Manchester overnight.

I think Oak Road and Shaws LANE junction is in MOTTRAM ST ANDREW, not in Prestbury as stated. What is it with Prestbury? Does it sound better? Mottram is a village in it's own right.
