PARENTS of Tytherington High pupils have complained to the headteacher - because the school has re-opened despite the snow.
Headteacher Andy Robinson was so determined to clear the grounds that he hired in an independent contractor to get the job done.
But he says a few parents objected to his efficency, claiming it was too dangerous for their kids to attend.
The school was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday to be cleared, but was reopened yesterday (January 7) thanks to the speedy snow-ploughing, with the school footing their own £200 bill.
Mr Robinson said: "I've made it in every day thanks to a 4x4 - and I even helped clear snow with a shovel.
"We were operating fully by Thursday (January 7) and today (Friday) and I put my contractors onto all the other high schools, which were all open today.
"I did get some complaints from parents, but I have assured them that the grounds are completely safe for students.
"We have had excellent attendance as a result."

i think the heads actions are commendable. You can never satisfy everyone with actions even if you have best intrests at heart. Well done.

I applaud him, too. And he's taken a risk - first because his attendances are bound not to be 100%, which will show up in League Tables (the London Department of Education does not accept 'bad weather' for non-attendance - one of the reasons, I suspect, for school closures at present. It's OK, of course, if the whole school is shut).
And second, because if little Jemima does slip on the ice and breaks her fingernail, Big Dad Jemima, if he's so inclined, will answer one of those interminable adverts on all of those funny TV channels. ('Had an accident? Not your fault?').
In these circumstances, that Head needs our support, not our sneers.
