Holders Heywood St James were knocked out of the County Cup by Irlam.

Irlam took the lead but were pegged back when Chris Nuttall slotted home.

But, with the clock ticking down, Irlam bagged the decider to end the Heywood outfit’s hopes.

Heywood St James second team were also beaten, going down 3-1 at Hindsford.

James Sweatman scored Jimmies solitary goal, while Luke Mutch was named man of the match.

On Saturday, Heywood St James first team travel to Prestwich and the second team entertain Chapel Town at Bowlee. Players meet at the hut at 12.30pm.
