A blitz to tackle crime and grime is in full swing on town centre streets.
Rochdale Borough Council, the police and more than 30 other agencies are spending this week, 8 to 14 March, addressing community safety issues in the centre of Heywood, in a bid to make it a more enjoyable place for people to do business and visit.
There will be more police on patrol, particularly on weekend evenings, crackdowns on litter, dog fouling, graffiti and fly tipping, initiatives to tackle ant-social behaviour and youth nuisance and special crime prevention advice on offer.
Advertiser reporter, Paul Harvey, will be joining the various agencies as they tackle important issues, with a full report to be published in next week’s Advertiser.
Listed right are some activities members of the public can get involved in.
Please note that the Heywood Together Event scheduled for Saturday at TOPS Business Centre has been cancelled.
