HEYWOOD Business Support Project is organising a new set of skills workshops to help residents to get ahead with their entrepreneurial ideas.

On Tuesday, February 17, a course on interview skills takes place between 5.30pm and 8.30pm.  On Tuesday, March 3, participants can pick up tips on how to beat the credit crunch, between 5.30pm and 9pm.

Both courses are held at Heady Hill Community Centre and include buffets. They are free and run by New Heart for Heywood.

  • EXISTING businesses are invited to a series of free workshops and events over the coming weeks.  They are all are held at TOPS Business Centre in conjunction with Heywood Business Support Project and run from 5pm to 8pm.

    On Wednesday, February 18, the workshop is titled redundancy and employment law. A free buffet is provided. On Wednesday, February 25, pick up tips on how to beat the recession.

  • JD SPORTS has been branded the worst shop in the country by an influential customer survey.

    Responses from 14,000 consumers to a survey by Which? magazine put the shop, which has a large distribution centre at Pilsworth and headquarters in Bury, at the bottom of 96 shops. It was marked down for an unpleasant atmosphere and unhelpful staff.

    Supermarket Waitrose came out at the top of the survey, followed by department store John Lewis.
