ENTRIES are still being taken for this year’s ‘Round the Resers’ race which will be run next Wednesday, June 24.
The five-mile run incorporates two laps of the Vale House reservoir and sees Andy Norman looking for title number four after completing his hat-trick last year.
Sale Manchester’s Paul Green is also looking to win the race for the fourth occasion, while there will be further local interest with the appearance of Hadfield’s Andy Jones.
Recognised as Britain’s number one marathon runner following 12th place in this year’s London Marathon, Jones is another former winner having taken top spot in 2001.
East Cheshire Harriers will be back to defend their team title, having beaten Stockport Harriers into second place last year.
The race starts at 7.30pm from the United Utilities offices, found just off Woodhead Road, Tintwistle. Registration commences at 6.15pm from the Community Building, Sexton Street.
Entry is £6 for club athletes and £8 for unattached runners. Cheques should be made payable to Tintwistle Children’s Gala and sent to: Mr G Davies, 2 Roe Cross Farm, Old Road, Mottram, Hyde, Cheshire, SK14 6LW.
