Five-year-old Sahil Saeed has been found safe and well 13 days after he was kidnapped in Pakistan, reports said today.
The British High Commissioner in Islamabad, Adam Thompson, told the BBC that the "traumatic ordeal" was over for the family of Sahil, who is from Oldham.
Last week Sahil's family had their hopes dashed after false reports that Sahil had been found and handed over to his father.
Sahil was visiting relatives in Jhelum with his father Raja when he was kidnapped from his grandmother's house on 3 March.
His mother Akila Naggash, who had stayed at the family home in Oldham made a tearful appeal for his release, saying she would forgive his kidnappers.
The British High Commission said the Rushcroft Primary school pupil was found in the town of Dinga, 20 miles away, but had no further details of how his release had been secured.
Sahil was taken by several men and it was reported they demanded a ransom of £100,000.
