A spate of burglaries has prompted police to increase the number of patrols in Glossop.
The most recent raid was reported last Thursday when jewellery was stolen.
Inspector Stuart Thompson said burglaries in the town are not commonplace but that officers had seen an increase in incidents in recent weeks and were making every effort to tackle the problem.
"We are reminding residents to make sure their windows and doors are locked, even if they are at home," he said.
"Garages and sheds should be locked and you should make sure you leave no items of value on display in your vehicle. I would urge anyone with information about these burglaries to call us. If you see someone acting suspiciously in your area, contact the police immediately. We rely on residents to come forward with information. You may have seen someone acting suspiciously in your street, or have noticed a vehicle in the road that isn’t usually there. It’s information like this that could be important to our investigations."
The most recent burglary took place between 1pm on Monday February 22 and noon on Thursday February 25 at a house in Eyam Lea, where jewellery was stolen.
Police have arrested a 14-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man in connection with this incident and two other burglaries. They have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Safer Neighbourhood team officers from the town have increased patrols and are checking houses and cars for insecurities.
If a home or vehicle is found insecure, officers will speak to residents, giving crime prevention advice.
Police are also holding property marking events.
The teams will be in the mobile police station at different locations across the area on Saturday March 6 to allow residents to bring along any portable items for marking, or arrange a visit to their home.
The mobile police station will be in Glossop this Saturday at the following times and places:
Derbyshire police can be contacted on 0345 123 3333 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
