New ban on lorries

Campaigners hoping to re-open Glossop’s rubbish tip have been left fearing for its future after council chiefs ruled that NO lorries were allowed on the site.

The tip, on Melandra Road, Gamesley, was closed eight months ago meaning residents who want to get rid of waste are forced to make a 40-mile round trip to Buxton.
