A BURY man has become the latest to be sentenced for fly-tipping.

Mohammed Khan of Horne Street pleaded guilty at Bury Magistrates Court to dumping rubble in Back Heywood Street, Pimhole on May 11 this year.

He was given a six-month conditional discharge.

He was captured on CCTV by a community response officer, and subsequently hired a skip to take away the rubbish.

Councillor Dorothy Gunther, executive member for environment and transport, said: "We are determined to keep our streets clean, and will not hesitate to take offenders to court. When will people ever learn?"
