Protesters said they were unhappy about the current situation in Pakistan where the American military is using the country as a base to fight the Taliban in neighbouring Afghanistan and South South Waziristan with the support of the Pakistan Army.
This has resulted in several bomb attacks throughout the country by militant extremists who are calling for both American and Pakistan armies to stop its offensive against the Taliban.
The ongoing fighting has also resulted in hundreds of civilians deaths and casualties and the displacement of nearly three-million people from their villages in the North West Frontier Province.
The protests, organised by the Islamic political party, Hizb ut-Tahrir took place on Wilmslow Road and was followed by protests in Bradford outside the the Consulate of Pakistan.
Large banners calling to 'Save Pakistan' where held whilst chants were made against the American's "political interference" in the country.
In Bradford, Hizb ut-Tahrir spokesperson, Dr Muhammed Nawaz addressed the crowd and told them the only US plan for Pakistan was to draw the Pakistani army into a war in South Waziristan and to strengthen America's position in Afghanistan.
He argued that this war would worsen divisions in the country.
Dr Nawaz also highlighted the practical actions which Hizb ut-Tahrir has been undertaking to raise the political issues affecting the country and mobilise the efforts of concerned people against America's plans in Pakistan.
He said there was a "need for all to commit to this effort to remove Zardari (Pakistan's president), save Pakistan and work for replacing the regime with a Khilafah state which will act as an independent state and not bow down to imperial designs."
Protestors marched around various busy spots in Bradford including mosques, local cash and carries, market areas and bazaars to mobilise people behind the Save Pakistan campaign.

Where was their talk of civil war prior to America coming to Pakistan in 2001?
What did the people of Pakistan tell Hillary Clinton on her visit last month?
It was plain and simple....the people of Pakistan will not fight a war in their country which is the product of American intervention. They said this is America's War and not Pakistans.
What the protest is calling for is to Stop America making Pakistan into Iraq where deliberate divsions were sowed by America on sectarian, regional and nationalistic lines. Now you have an Iraq in pieces and full of blood shed.
Shamas, as usual we all take on abourd your absurd comments

It is not America's fault that these terrorists are over-running Pakistan. Pakistan's government and military fostered these terrorists to attack India, and now they have decided to attack Pakistan itself, as they ar ebasically animals.
And the idea that Mossad, FBI, etc are responsible for 9/11, 7/7, etc is so ludicrous I won't even address it. I'm surprised people like you read newspapers at all, because it doesn't show.
The world wants to help Pakistan, but British Pakistanis need to stop living in denial and admit Pakistan's problems so it can move on.
