A man has been charged after a 26-year-old man was shot in the leg in Rochdale.

Khalil Mohammed, aged 27 of South Street, Rochdale, has been charged with attempted murder.

He is due to appear before magistrates in Rochdale today, Wednesday 15 July 2009.

The charge relates to a shooting at about 12.50am on Friday 10 July 2009, on Yorkshire Street, Rochdale.

Officers attended and discovered a 26-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his leg. He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries. He remains in a stable condition.
