A WOMAN was threatened with a gun during a car jacking on her own drive in Manchester.

The 43-year-old woman had driven back to her home on Northbank Gardens, Burnage, and was parking her car.

As she got out a man approached her from behind, pulled out a small handgun and pointed it at her.

Speaking with an Asian accent, the man demanded the victim hand over the keys which the terrified woman did.

The man then got into her car - a red Honda Civic type R, registration DE02 MFF - and drove away in the direction of Kingsway.

The offender is described as an Asian in his early to mid 20s, about 5ft 9in tall and medium build. He had short black hair, chin stubble, and was sharp featured.

He was wearing a zip up black bomber jacket with a metallic pattern around the zip and dark trousers. His gun was silver/grey with a large handle.

PC Louise Moss from the West Didsbury crime team said: "This woman has been left terrified by what this man did. We are urging anyone who might have witnessed this incident, or seen the victim's car since it was stolen, to contact us immediately. Even the smallest piece of information could be of use to us."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 6038 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
