A PHARMACIST faced his fears and jumped out of a plane from 10,000ft to raise more than £2,500 for charity.
Aneet Kapoor, of Oldham Road Pharmacy, recently completed a skydive in Lancaster and collected an impressive £2,545 for Diabetes UK.
He hoped to raise awareness of diabetes and the services being offered to the local community by Rochdale chemists.
The 26-year-old was grateful to everyone who sponsored him and was delighted with the amount of money raised.
He said: "The dive was amazing. There was no feeling like it and I spent 40 seconds in freefall.
"Over the past year, I’ve been working to raise awareness of diabetes and when the opportunity came up to do a skydive, I decided to go for it.
"The industry is really moving forward and I just want the public to know what they can get from their pharmacy. It seems that jumping out of a plane might just have grabbed people’s attention."
A range of services is offered at Oldham Road Pharmacy. These include stop smoking schemes, medicine reviews to help patients understand their medication and a selection of minor ailment programmes.
