A GANG of robbers surrounded a teenager as he rode home and threatened him to hand over his bicycle.
Shortly after 10pm on Sunday 8 June, the 17-year-old was riding his grey mountain bike along Kerscott Road in Northern Moor when he was stopped by eight youths, who were also on bikes.
They started talking to him and an Asian teenager threatened him with violence if he did not hand over his bike.
Afraid of what may happen next, the 17-year-old gave it to them and the offenders left behind a BMX.
The gang then rode away along Kerscott Road, towards Moor Croft Road.
The Asian man is described as being aged 17 or 18, of slim build and 5ft 10ins tall. He was wearing a light grey top. He has black, shaved hair and a small head.
Another offender is described as being a black boy, aged 14 or 15, around 5ft tall and also of slim build. He has a shaved head and was wearing dark clothing.
They were with six other black youths aged between 17 and 18 and wearing dark clothing.
Police Constable Mark Foran, of Wythenshawe Police Station, said: "Although the 17-year-old victim was not hurt, he was frightened by the threats made to him.
"I would appeal to anyone who might know who is responsible for this robbery to contact police on 0161 856 6181 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
