Two men have been remanded in custody after they were charged following the discovery of a large-scale cannabis farm in Rochdale last week.
Shortly after 10.30am on Thursday 31 January ,officers found about 1,000 cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of £1million, as well as electrical equipment, including lighting and ventilation systems.
Mahmood Anwar, aged 50, of Pullman Street, Rochdale, is charged with producing cannabis to the value of one-million-pounds.
Mujahid Ishaq, aged 35, of Cumbrae Road, Levenshulme, is charged with being concerned in the production of cannabis to the value of one-million-pounds and possession with intent to supply.
Both appeared before Rochdale Magistrates' Court on Saturday 2 February 2008. They have been remanded in custody to reappear on Thursday 7 February.
