HELP is at hand for Asian couples looking for the perfect venue for their dream wedding.
Venues in Bolton are now better equipped to help Asian couples host their big day after receiving expert advice, from the council and a local Asian weddings expert, on the wedding needs of the Asian community.
Delegates including Egerton House, Holiday Inn in Bolton town centre, De Vere Whites and Albert Halls recently learnt about the different requirements of Muslim, Hindu and Sikh weddings and what they can do to help couples make their big day go as smoothly as possible.
The training was facilitated by the Bolton Tourism Forum, which is supported by Bolton Council, to help improve staff awareness at many venues which are suitable for Asian weddings. The forum consists of a group of hotels, attractions, restaurants and other tourism businesses who are working together to provide a better service to Asian customers from Bolton and the surrounding area.
Whether it’s a hall for a henna do or extravagant surroundings for a full-on wedding bash, venues including the historic Albert Halls, which is located inside Bolton’s Victorian Town Hall in the heart of the town centre, already have a wealth of experience at hosting Asian weddings. The Albert Halls has held hundreds of Asian weddings during the last decade. Two of their main conference rooms can accommodate up to 450 guests and all rooms offer flexibility of layout, with kitchens located on the same floor.
Bolton Council’s executive member for development, Councillor John Byrne said: "Bolton has some fantastic venues geared up to host Asian weddings and venues now know the subtle differences required by the Asian wedding market, thanks to the training. This represents a great opportunity for Bolton to become a recognised destination for Asian weddings in the North West."
