Control your diabetes during Ramadan

A leading GP and former health advisor for NHS East Lancashire is urging those who are fasting to eat sensibly in the evening to prevent the onset of diabetes especially because the Asian community are five times more likely to develop diabetes than the general population.

As well being at greater risk, people of Asian origin are more likely to develop the condition from the age of 25, fifteen years earlier than their white counterparts.
