Alexandra Park in Oldham was packed at the weekend as it played host to the Oldham Mega Mela.

The family-friendly event kicked off a month of activities that will form the Festival of Diversity.

The mela – which is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘to meet’ – brought together youngsters and their parents from different communities, and they were able to enjoy a mix of music, food and games.
