   Accrington Observer, Friday 13 January 2012 Police also want to question Stephen Robinson in connection with an attempted armed robbery at a shop in Clayton-le-Moors. Robinson, 28, has been recalled to prison after having failed to comply with the conditions of his prison licence.

    Accrington Observer, Friday 06 January 2012 An electrical fault started a fire in Accrington Cricket Club’s clubhouse cellar at some point over the festive period. But mercifully the heat from the burning electrical unit caused a water pipe located just a few inches above to rupture, dousing the flames.
