Great grandmother Margaret Mary Bamber, of Lancaster Avenue, Accrington, died on Monday, October 24, aged 90.

A press machine operator for Clarks Mica, Oswaldtwistle, she went into service in Manchester at the age of 14. She also helped her daughter and son-in-law behind the scenes in their fish and chip shop in Cedar Street, Accrington.

She wrote poetry, mainly for special family occasions such as weddings, birthdays and anniversaries. She was also artistic and loved doing art at Woodhaven Day Care Centre, as well as word search puzzles. Wife of the late Oswald William Bamber, she leaves son Tony, daughter Shelagh, son-in-law Peter, grandchildren Mark, Ian, Gary, Lee, Daniel, Natasha and Jamie. She also leaves great grandchildren Benjamin, Ava and Mae. She was also a dearly loved aunt and dear sister to the late Martin, Eileen, Kathleen, Thomas, James and Tony.

Her funeral took place on Wednesday, November 2 at St Joseph’s Church followed by internment at Dill Hall Cemetery. Donations to the North West Ambulance Service c/o Hyndburn Funeral Service.
