ARE you a former resident of Hyndburn who has moved abroad and who wants to get back in touch with people still living in the town? Do you know of friends or family who have moved overseas and you want to try and track them down? Well here's your chance with our new interactive map ...
In this section, we're giving an opportunity for people who were parted when locals decided to make new lives overseas to make contact once again.
If you are an ex-pat, who wants to know the whereabouts of a pal or relative, send us the details and we'll post them up here. The same is true of locals - let us know if you want to get back in touch with a local who has left these shores. You never know - they might just visit this site, read your message and you could be reunited.
Alternatively, ex-pats can write to us simply if they want to let the folks back home know what they've been up to, how life overseas is treating them, and what they miss about Hyndburn.
All you have to do to take advantage of this service is to click here to go to our interactive map of the world , then click on the part of the map where you live. Your own pinpoint will appear which you can move to the exact location you want (use the controls on the top-right of the map to move around and to zoom in and out, right down to street level).
A form will also appear which will allow you to give your name, contact details, reason for moving and anything else you want to share with us.
Please note - this information will appear live on the site immediately and is not moderated. If you feel that somebody is abusing this map service, please click here to e-mail the web editor.
NOTE: All entries received so far, which can bee seen by clicking on 'View comments' have been added to the interactive map - from now on we'd like all new entries to be added via this map and not by clicking on 'Submit comments'. Thank you.

No one seems to be signing in.
Perhaps a bit of publicity in the newspaper might revive a few memories.
I have been abroad for a long time but thanks to Accrington web.com I have managed to find old friends.
A bit of space every now and again in the newspaper for the nostalgics like me, might make for an interesting article

We moved to Australia 40 years go and over the years have lost touch with Doreen and Harry Fox ( Fox- Bowskil ) The last address we had for them was in Brittany France, and last year on a European holiday we tried to surprise them, only to find they had moved on.
On our regular trawls of internet web sites we came across a newspaper article about a guy called Paul Stuart Fox who was to be a competitor on a TV cooking show. the article gave his street ( but no number ). No Number appeared in the white pages. He is, according to the article, manager of the Attic night club. Again no number is available in the white pages. Paul, we believe, is Doreen and Harrys son, right age, right name, even looks like Harry.
Paul lives in Accrington and after a search of the Accrington polling lists we hit pay dirt. There were Doreen and Harry, unfortunately no address and no phone number.
If its possible to put a notice in your paper we would love for them to E mail us on 'kaynalan@bigpond.com. Hope fully we can catch up with them next year when we are hoping to return to the UK for a holiday

[quote name=Diane Climo, Perth, Australia]Hi my name is Diane Climo (nee Kirkbright). I moved to Perth, Australia, in 1978 (or was that 79?). Anyway i went to St Annes Primary then to Hollins High School. We lived on Avenue Parade. Now I just have to say my memory is shocking and I'm afraid I can only remember a few people from Accy. I was 12 when we moved here. I would love to hear from anyone who remembers me or my family and catch up. It would be great to have a memory refresher from anyone who would like to write. Cheers from sunny Aussie. an update on email address which now is hunnibud@optusnet.com.au
