The Observer will be running a special edition with bumper anniversary pull-out to commemorate the milestone.
From the paper delivery boy and the newsagents who sold the Observer to the former editors who created it; we want to hear from anyone who has contributed to the production of the Observer over the years.
We would also love to hear from readers – how do you remember the paper and how has it changed over the years?
And the search is still on to find the oldest copy of the Accrington Observer.
The Observer offices were originally in Peel Street and the paper was partly printed in Blackburn on the Blackburn Times presses.
We want your old photographs, pictures, newspaper articles and memories.
If you think you own the oldest copy or if you would like to contribute to our anniversary celebrations please contact the Accrington Observer newsdesk on 0161 211 2977, email us at accringtonobserver@menmedia.co.uk or post on the Observer's Ex Pats online column.

There is a newspaper that I know
And all the staff are all a-glow.
They are attentive and very cool
And always treat you with news to drool!
The Accrington paper is second to none
With stories to melt your heart and one
Heck of a read and full of good deed
You won't go wrong just have a good read!
So (congratulations) we say to you,
We are thankful for the news you review.
We wish you well and the reporters there
Thank you our friend; the paper that cares.
